As we begin to close out an exciting and productive year for Metis, we are embarking on a reboot of the Decentralized Sequencers (DSEQ) to revitalize DeFi within our ecosystem by introducing an enhanced reward mechanism that creates sustainable value flows between network infrastructure and applications. To ensure the ubiquitous backbone of any thriving ecosystem in the form of DeFi thrives, and that LSTs, now gaining consensus as being as important as DEXs, become an integral part of a DeFi user’s journey, we’re digging in to provide the best environment for their success. Nonetheless, the DSEQ Reboot is about more than rewards; it’s about building a strong DeFi foundation that aligns the success of users, projects, and the broader ecosystem.
The DSEQ Reboot is designed to:
1. Strengthen Metis DeFi: Ensure that the critical components of a thriving DeFi sector, DSEQ Nodes and Liquid Staking Tokens (LSTs) and their users, are given what they need to succeed.
2. Rewarding Metis contributors through DSEQ ecosystem: Provide new onchain activities for the community with tailored rewards for their contributions.
3. Support Shared Success: Empower both projects and users to thrive in a collaborative environment that incentivizes contributions leading to enhanced ecosystem growth.
The integration of liquid staking tokens (LST) with decentralized sequencer operations forms the cornerstone of this infrastructure. Node operators can now earn up to 5,000 METIS monthly through efficient operations, while combined node and LST protocols access enhanced rewards up to 10,000 METIS monthly. This performance-based structure ensures sustainable liquidity growth.
LST protocols serve as essential gateways between network infrastructure and DeFi applications. By distributing transaction revenue through these protocols, Metis creates sustainable reward generation backed by real network activity. This mechanism can enable deeper liquidity pools and stable tokenomics for ecosystem projects.
The reboot introduces a new mechanism for rewards, promoting cross-pollination between important projects within the ecosystem. Beyond base rewards for node operations and LST integration, the program includes Metisian Rewards, the final version of the Holder Mining program - partner token distribution through LST protocols - and special allocations for exceptional ecosystem contributions.
