Week 2 of Community Testing for the Metis decentralized sequencer had contributors buzzing! More than 100,000 contributors in total have taken part in the initiative, showing a solid and growing commitment from our community.
It has been two weeks since Community Testing kicked off, and the numbers keep improving! Up to January 28th, there were more than 115,000 contributors to the Testnet! The final week of Season 1 is currently underway, and Season 2 will begin on February 5th.
The first two weeks of Community Testing have exceeded expectations. Week 2 of our Community Testing maintained impressive momentum, mirroring the strong performance as Week 1. Participating dApps have welcomed:
Opposite to the update provided in the previous weekly Summary, ENKI will not participate in the community testing season 1. Instead, the rollout of ENKI is scheduled for Season 2 of Community Testing.
Sequencer Rotations: 600+
Unique Contributors: More than 115,000
Number of Transactions: Over 3,000,000
Total Points earned: 300M+
Top dApp based on points earned: Tethys Finance
During Week 2, we featured fewer boosters compared to Week 1, which led to an increase in the number of transactions. It seemed like contributors had become too comfortable with boosters, but now it’s all hands on deck for stress-testing again! Don’t worry. From Tuesday to Saturday, we will share a total of 10 boosters, each one packing at least 200 points. We had 2 boosters up for grab in Week 2:
What was the first #Metis dApp to go through CEG?
(+200 points)
Answer: Hera Finance.
Winners: @Ceeny007
Name the process in which #Metis sequencer nodes produce blocks and get rewarded for it. Hint: It will go live with the Decentralized Sequencer.
(+300 points)
Answer: Sequencer Mining.
Winners: @audios194
Both participants who won will be contacted by @MetisL2 via X this week so that booster points can be added to these users’ total XP amount.
Week 3 is the final week of Season 1. At its current stage, Community Testing has 4 participant dApps: Netswap, Tethys, Hummus, and Midas. ENKI, the fifth one, will not be joining for Week 3. But instead for Season 2, Tethys keeps being the top dApp in terms of points earned, so it will be interesting to see if one of the other dApps strips the crown from Tethys. On a separate note, there will be 10 boosters in Week 3, allowing late entrants to climb up the rankings, or allowing current leaders to extend the lead. This will be the final week of Season 1. We’d highly encourage everyone to turn notifications ON for our X handle (@MetisL2) since this week’s boosters will carry over 2,000 points in total. Make the most out of them.
THE ARCHITECTURE STILL WORKS. So far, Community Testing has attracted over 115,000 contributors which added more than 3,000,000 total transactions to Testnet, helping Metis developers stress-test the decentralized sequencer architecture. Week 3 will be the final week of Season 1, and will be followed by a Season 2 distinguished by ENKI Protocol’s participation alongside upcoming surprises. We are immensely grateful for the support we’ve gotten from contributors and the overall Metis community. The decentralized sequencer is coming soon.
