Goal

This guide is for first-time users to create an account on Prologue, the test DApp built on Metis alpha testnet. Users can log into Prologue to:

  • Create a DAC
  • Join a DAC
  • Publish a task or claim a task
  • Participate in knowledge base maintenance

 

Vocabulary

  • DAC – Decentralized Autonomous Company
  • DAC Initiator/Collaborator – DAC Owner/creator/manager
  • DAC Member – One who joins a DAC to collaborate
  • DAC Portal – All DACs, both joined and not joined
  • Task List – All available tasks in your joined DACs
  • My Tasks – Claimed tasks
  • Knowledge management – Managing DAC knowledge base
  • M Token – Test token in the alpha testnet

 

Create A Personal Account and DAC

Step 1: Creating an Account

Go to https://alphatest.metisdao.org/ and create an account with your email and a password of your choice. By clicking on the “Sign up” button, you agree to our Testnet Disclaimer.

Find your private key in your email.

When you sign up, 1000 test M Tokens will be allocated to your account for you to experience all the functions in Prologue.

 

Log in to your newly created account to see all the DACs available

.

Step 2: Creating a DAC as a DAC publisher/initiator

Click “Add My DAC” to add/create your own DAC.                                 Input your DAC name, description and logo.

 

 

 

Step 3: Activate the DAC by Staking M Tokens

Step 4: DAC is created! Check the DAC details at the home page and profile page.

Task Management User Guide

  1. User Scenario: DAC publisher/initiator

Step 1: Add and Activate a task as a DAC publisher/initiator

After creating a new DAC, you have the Task Management panel in the DAC, which includes the following functions: seeing your task list, publishing a new task for DAC members to claim, and getting already published tasks.

Publish a new task in your DAC by providing details about the task, including incentives for completing the task and activating with M tokens.

Step 2: Edit Task Statement and stake commitment

After publishing a task, you can edit the task statement by adding the details and requirements of the task.

Step 3: Reviewing and settling a task response by DAC publisher/initiator

After publishing a task, wait for a DAC member to claim and submit the response to the task. Review the deliverables, then approve upon performing all requirements. Settle and allow automatic transfer of committed tokens.

  1. User Scenario: DAC Member

Step 1: Joining a DAC as a member

A nice interface showing all available DACs appears after login. You can choose to join any of the DACs, or Create your own DAC.

Step 2: Claim Task, Finish and Submit a task.

You can claim available tasks in your task list. This list is available in your joined DACs. Claim and activate a task by staking M tokens. Go to deliverables and submit your finished task. This can be done by typing or uploading a document.

After submission, wait for review and approval by the publisher. If you get approved, check out your task to settle and receive the M tokens committed by the publisher

 

Knowledge Management User Guide

  1. User Scenario: DAC publisher/initiator

Step 1: Adding to Knowledge management as DAC publisher/ Initiator

As a DAC initiator, you can add to the knowledge management. Click on add Knowledge category and provide your DAC’s name and description to the category. Stake M tokens to activate it.

Under the category, you can add different knowledge items, stake some M tokens to activate it, and add all the contents of the knowledge item. This includes: item description, amount of M tokens to be staked, and incentives for participants and collaborators.

  1. User Scenario: DAC member

Step 1: Join and participate in Knowledge management as a DAC member

As a DAC member, you can join and discuss the knowledge items of your joined DACs. You will be required to stake M tokens to have access to the knowledge item.

After staking, enter the discussion room to get access to the content of the knowledge item. In the discussion room, you can participate in the knowledge discussion to contribute to the knowledge base construction, and you can also like topics as well as reward someone else with M tokens.
