MetisDAO announced today 17th March 2021, the launch of its new brand campaign as the leading layer 2 DAO as it  prepares for its upcoming testnet launch. Metis is a blockchain specialist focused on accelerating the development of decentralized applications, economies and community-based projects. MetisDAO takes its name from the Greek goddess METIS, one of the elder Okeanides and Titan-goddess of good counsel, planning, and wisdom. The team believes she is the perfect representation of what decentralized autonomous organizations stand for.
Early in March of 2021, Metis successfully raised $1M in seed and angel funding with investors Ralf P. Gerteis, P1X Capital, Waterdrip Capital, DFG, Chain Capital, AC Capital, Block.power Combinator, Hotbit, SSSnodes, Crasolum, Kernel Ventures, Catcher VC, Jubi Labs and Ming Liu, former co-founder of Tron, is well on its way of closing a successful second round of private funding before the testnet launch which will take place in the next few weeks.
Metis has built its tech stack by hard-forking the Optimistic Rollup(OR), a mainstream Layer2 scaling solution of Ethereum. Tailoring the OR for managing collaborations, Metis is endeavoring to develop an easy-to-use and full functions framework for Web2 communities, allowing anyone to create their decentralized company on the blockchain, whatever their prior experience of blockchain technology. The Optimistic Governance mechanism will provide a simple way to build trust among collaborating community members, and other tools will enable the management of business activities.
Metis believes that the future lies in the decentralized, autonomous management of day-to-day operations in a decentralized organization called a Decentralized Autonomous Company (DAC): a system entity
that supports an organization’s day-to-day operations, including those of large scale enterprises.
