We proudly announced Hashkey Cloud onboarding as the first independent decentralized sequencer client. This is a major step toward decentralization, helping Metis distribute network operations and governance enhancing security, censorship resistance, and liveness.

Metis is also thrilled to announce a strategic collaboration with ABGA, a global Web3 gaming club, and Google Cloud Web3 to launch the GameFi Quantum Leap Accelerator Program. This initiative will assist professional game developers transitioning from Web2 to Web3 GameFi by providing resources, guidance, and expert support to ensure their long-term success.
The program officially started with a launch ceremony on September 17 at InnoBlock 2024, held at the Singapore EXPO. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in Metis gaming, which was made possible by collaboration with ABGA and Google Cloud Web3.

On September 26th, SNZ became the second independent sequencer to join the Decentralized Sequencer pool. SNZ’s integration strengthens both the decentralization and security of the Metis network.
This partnership is even bigger, as Artemis, a leading LST platform, has also committed to delegating Metis tokens through their collaboration with SNZ, locking more METIS tokens out of circulating supply and expanding access to LSTs and sequencer mining rewards for Metis users.
Metis and Gitcoin recently wrapped up their first community funding round, launching a push to grow the Metis ecosystem. With 3,000 METIS (~$100,000) available in the matching pool, the goals were clear: engage the community in choosing what matters through Quadratic Funding (QF), support projects that build on existing solutions rather than compete, and find innovative ideas that allow the ecosystem to stay powerful while having room to grow.
Over 30 projects participated, with the community rallying behind those that excited them, had a solid plan, and aligned with Metis’ culture. Using Gitcoin’s Grant Stack, we made it easy for projects to participate and for the community to have their say in how resources were allocated.

Metis and Thrive Protocol launched a $3.6 million annualized initiative to support developers and community members. This partnership incentivizes growth in the Metis ecosystem by offering rewards for project contributions.
Thrive Metis, a key component of the partnership, streamlines grant distribution and offers $100,000 in Gitcoin funding to help developers build on Metis. The initiative encourages both large project grants and smaller community tasks, rewarding contributors at every level.

Arena of Faith entered the third and most exciting phase of Airdrop Season with the Metis x AOF Cup Match II! Running from September 22nd to 28th, 2024, this tournament features a $10,000 prize pool of METIS tokens and includes Cup Matches, an Esports Prediction Challenge, and exclusive POFS rewards.
Tournament categories range from Beginner Matches to the highly anticipated Metis Championship, catering to all skill levels. Competitors can win up to $7,000, while POFS rewards offer another $3,000 for match verification. Even spectators can join the action by predicting match outcomes and earning rewards.

In September, Metis integrated WeaveVM, a sovereign EVM network using Arweave for permanent data storage, to ensure data transparency and security for decentralized sequencer nodes. WeaveVM’s storage is cost-effective and permanent, reducing risks related to data loss and providing new nodes with a public ledger history. The integration uses the WeaveVM Archiver, allowing seamless permanent data storage without altering Metis' core architecture.

September brought exciting news for gamers as DFK hosted their PvP Playtest Weekend, opening up the battlefield to players worldwide. This sneak peek gave participants a chance to experience some of the game’s innovative new features and thrilling gameplay mechanics before its official launch on Metis.
Players jumped into intense battles, tested new strategies, and provided crucial feedback to the developers, helping fine-tune the experience.
To top it off, DFK announced 100 winners from the testing weekend, each receiving $50 in METIS. The prizes will be distributed following the public launch of the DFK PvP Colosseum on Metis.
