Patrols, the great entry-level combat experience in DeFi Kingdoms, is here and exclusively available on Metis! Whether new to the game or a seasoned adventurer, Patrols make it easier to dive into the action, level up your Heroes, and earn exciting rewards.

What Are Patrols?

Patrols are an entry-level Player vs Environment (PvE) combat system designed for Heroes of all levels—starting from Level 1. This progressive, rogue-lite-style gameplay lowers the barrier to entry for new players, allowing them to:

• Learn the combat system at their own pace.
• Gain XP, Gold, and unique loot drops.
• Enjoy an engaging, risk-reward combat system without needing advanced game knowledge.

Patrolling the Colosseum helps keep the citizens of Submersia safe, and Heroes are rewarded for their service with exciting in-game benefits!

How Patrols Work

Patrols are divided into three level tiers:

1. Level 1–3 Patrols: Ideal for beginners to learn the ropes and earn starting rewards.
2. Level 4–6 Patrols: A bit more challenging, with better rewards.
3. Level 7–9 Patrols: For players seeking higher risks and even greater rewards.

Once you complete the first group of enemies, you can either:

• Claim your rewards immediately and exit, or
• Continue to the next round for a chance at bigger rewards—but with increased risk.

Each patrol level offers unique enemies, randomized encounters, and the opportunity to earn new pieces of equipment, consumable items, and more!

Free-to-Try: No Heroes Needed!

New to DeFi Kingdoms? Don’t worry! Patrols include a free-to-try mode, allowing anyone to experience the game without owning Heroes. Here’s how:

1. Visit game.defikingdoms.com while connected to a Metis RPC.
2. Go to the Registry and speak to the Patrols NPC.
3. Select the Free-to-Try Patrol option to get started with three pre-selected Heroes.

You’ll enter combat and get a hands-on introduction to the gameplay, trying out basic attacks, skills, and abilities to battle enemies.

Ready to Take It to the Next Level?

Once you’re familiar with Patrols and ready to earn real rewards:

1. Visit the Barkeep in the Docks to purchase a team of Heroes.
2. Speak to the Recruiter NPC in the Registry to pledge your Heroes as Bannermen for the city.
3. Return to the Patrols NPC to embark on your adventure with your team.

For new players, we recommend a team of Heroes from the Warrior, Archer, Priest, and Knight classes at similar levels to ensure a smoother learning curve.
