Metis has partnered with Nuvo and GOAT Network, along with other ecosystem partners, to launch MetisChamps, a competitive Olympic prediction challenge for the 2024 Paris Olympics. This campaign allows users to leverage their sports knowledge to predict the outcomes of various Olympic events. By wagering CHAMPS tokens, participants can forecast event results, track their predictions, and earn rewards based on accuracy. MetisChamps offers an interactive experience, enhancing the thrill of the Olympic games for sports AND crypto enthusiasts.

The Metis sequencer withdrawal feature on the main net provides crucial flexibility for sequencer operators while ensuring the network's security and integrity. As Metis continues to grow, this functionality will play a pivotal role in maintaining a decentralized, efficient, rewarding, and user-friendly ecosystem.

We shared our roadmap for the second half of 2024. In the first half, we focused on decentralizing our sequencer and onboarding our first liquid staking token (LST) protocols. Our mission for the next six months is to disrupt the standard L2 economic model by empowering contributors with network ownership, impactful governance roles, and reinforced economic security through revenue sharing. The Metis Ecosystem Development Fund (EDF) will get a framework facelift to drive adoption and growth.
Key initiatives for the latter half of 2024 include expanding the Decentralized Sequencer, enhancing secure cross-chain capabilities with Chainlink’s CCIP, and catalyzing growth with Builders Mining Rewards.

On June 28, 2024, Metis concluded the Decentralized Sequencer community governance process, selecting new sequencer node operators from 33 proposals. This milestone advances our goal of full decentralization and network ownership for sequencer operators. Independent operators bring diverse expertise that drives innovation, optimizing network growth and enhancing security while users benefit from improved reliability and performance. This model aligns operator interests with the network's success, promoting a more robust ecosystem by attracting more transactions and dApps.

In July, we announced a significant update to our gas pricing formula: Gas price = 50 / Metis price in USD. This change, part of a series of critical updates, increases the block size from a 25M gas limit to a 1.1B gas limit. We've virtually eliminated the need for gas auctions, making the network more user-friendly. This enhancement paves the way for higher throughput protocols like games and SocialFi dApps on Metis, ensuring predictable and consistent gas costs for users.
Metis proudly introduces our collaboration with Arena of Faith (AOF), a cutting-edge MOBA game that bridges e-sports and Web3.
