Hello Metisians! Welcome to the Metis Guide series. In this guide, we will take a deep dive into the step-by-step process of bridging to Metis from a Centralized Exchange (CEX). Our focus will be on how to send your tokens to the Metis Network from Binance. However, this guide can be applied to any CEX of your preference.
Step 1 - Make sure you've connected the BNB Chain to your Metamask wallet or any other Web3 wallets you want to use and don’t forget to have some BNB tokens available to pay for the gas fee on the BNB chain. If you haven't connected the BNB chain to your Metamask yet, you can easily follow the instructions provided here.
Once you have connected your Metamask wallet to the BNB Network we are ready to move to the next step.
Step 2 - Log in to your Binance account, open your wallet on Binance and click on the “Withdraw” button.
Step 2 - Select the token you want to send to your Metamask wallet. You can select any assets you wish to withdraw, in this article we will select USDT as it’s available on the BNB chain and you can receive it in m.USDC on the Metis Network.
Step 3 - Enter your wallet address and select BNB Chain (BEP20) for your withdrawal network. If you plan to send tokens to Metis through a different blockchain, just make sure to double-check that the chosen network is compatible with the bridging system you’re planning to use.
Step 4 - To withdraw your funds to your Metamask, enter the amount you wish to transfer.
Step 4 - Take a moment to verify the wallet address, withdrawal network, and withdrawal amount. Once you have confirmed that all the information is correct, simply press the "Withdraw" button.
Step 5 - Select the “Confirm” button to start processing your withdrawal.
You can double check the information again at this step and select the “Continue” button.
Step 5 - To confirm the transaction and the security on Binance. You will need to complete the verification process that you set up on your Binance account.
Once you've submitted your withdrawal request, Binance will send you an email as soon as the transaction is completed. To find your transaction ID (TXID), just follow these simple steps > See your transaction ID on Binance
And now you should be able to see the withdrawal tokens from Binance in your Metamask wallet.
To be able to send your fund to Metis you need to use a bridge for sending funds across the networks. In this case we will bridge to Metis from the BNB chain using Synapse.
Synapse is an easy-to-use platform for bridging tokens between Metis and other major blockchains, including Arbitrium, Polygon, Fantom, and Ethereum etc… which we will use for this example.
Don’t worry, it is a very simple process, just follow these steps below:
Step 1- Visit Synapse website
Step 2 - Connect Synapse to your wallet by clicking on “Connect Wallet” button
Step 3 - Add Metis Andromeda Mainnet to your Metamask wallet. Just visit https://chainlist.org/chain/1088 and you'll be able to add Metis to your wallet in no time!
Step 3 - Head back to the Synapse website, click on the “Enter bridge” button.
For bridging tokens to Metis, select BNB Chain as the source network and Metis as the destination network. Then choose the token and enter the amount you want to bridge.
Step 4 - Click on “Bridge USDT”
Step 5 - Confirm the transaction on your Metamask wallet and you should see your tokens in your Matemask wallet when you select the Metis Network.
