Metis has integrated Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) on its mainnet. This enables secure cross-chain messaging and transfers between Ethereum and Metis, with plans to add more blockchains and tokens in the future. CCIP unlocks various cross-chain use cases for Metis, including decentralized exchanges, cross-chain lending, and DAO voting. Furthermore, the integration includes support from Transporter, a secure bridging app powered by CCIP, to enhance liquidity within the ecosystem and scale DeFi and other dApps on Metis.

Aave, the leading lending DeFi protocol, is integrating METIS as collateral, enhancing the utility of METIS tokens and capital efficiency for users. This integration allows Metis users to collateralize their METIS tokens with a 30% loan-to-value (LTV) ratio, enabling them to borrow up to 30% of their METIS collateral's value. Benefits include increased borrowing power, improved liquidity management, and cost-efficient transactions, making the lending and borrowing process more flexible and economical on the Metis network.

We are excited to announce the Metis Quadratic Round #1 on Gitcoin Grants Stack hosted on the Metis network. This curated round will spotlight innovative projects focused on driving development within the Metis ecosystem, backed by a matching fund of over 3,000 METIS (worth 100,000 USD). The donation period is set for September 10th-26th, 2024. This programmatic approach involving the community reflects our commitment to Metis’ vision of creating a shared network ownership for better scalability and decentralization on the Ethereum network.
MetisChamps reward distribution is complete! Congratulations to the top 3 performers who have received their rewards from Metis and our campaign partners. Special rewards have also been distributed to those who participated in at least 35 games—thank you all for your participation!
HashKey is set to become Metis' first independently-run Decentralized Sequencer node operator. This development aligns with the goal of creating a decentralized Layer 2 that empowers contributors through network ownership, impactful governance roles, and revenue-sharing.

Koris recently wrapped up the Metis X Creator campaign, where X content creators were encouraged to showcase their creativity by producing content for the Metis ecosystem, with 32 METIS up for grabs. The campaign concluded on September 1st.
